Lime Garden have dropped the yearning new single ‘Moving Target’, ahead of their headline tour kicking off later this week.
The new single comes on the heels of the Brighton four-piece dropping their critically acclaimed sophomore album ‘Maybe Not Tonight’ earlier this year – which was the follow-up to 2024’s debut ‘One More Thing’.
Following a whirlwind summer, Chloe Howard, Leila Deeley, Annabel Whittle and Tippi Morgan are back with the new standalone single, which follows the ups and downs of falling in love.
“’Moving Target’ is about the feeling of falling in love even when you know it’s not going to work out,” singer Chloe Haward said. “It’s rare to find people you are magnetically drawn to, but when you do – just dive in and brace yourself for whatever happens. Heartbreak is always worth it.”
The track is produced alongside album producer Charlie Andrew (Wolf Alice, Alt-J), and comes with a tongue-in-cheek video that features poet and spoken-word performer Antony Szmierek.
It also arrives just before the band kick off their 2026 UK tour dates in Bristol this Friday (October 2). Shows continue throughout the month with further stops in Oxford, Cambridge, Leeds, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester and more.
A penultimate stop is scheduled for the Castle & Falcon in Birmingham on October 20, and this is followed by a final gig at Electric Brixton in London the next night (21). Visit here for tickets.
Speaking to NME about their sophomore album, Chloe Howard explained that the record was about surviving your early 20s, body positivity and measuring expectations. “It’s about accepting the consequences of those choices, but making this album has made me learn to embrace living a bit more,” she said. “Enjoy the moment – what will be, will be.”
She continued: “It was important to show the realistic side of self-destructive fun behaviour. We have a lot of fun and go out a lot, but of course there are some downsides to that. It was fun to play on both sides.”
When the album dropped, it was given a four-and-a-half star review from NME, which celebrated it as a “now blazing, brilliant second album” which “lands as a slice of victorious closure”, and it also made our list of the ‘Best Albums of 2026 So Far’.
