Charli XCX has shared a reaction following her song ‘Party 4 U’ going viral.
The track was officially released as part of the pop star’s 2020 record ‘How I’m Feeling Now’, although it had been around for much longer.
It was originally written during the sessions for the 2017 mixtape ‘Pop 2’, although it would soon get shelved. It did, however, go on to become something of a fan favourite, as Charli would often feature it in online videos or during live shows.
The singer teased that the song would be featured in the lockdown release when she held an Instagram Live, hinting to fans that she was going to be reworking an older song (via Clash).
Now, following on from the heights of ‘Brat Summer’ – the phenomenon that followed the release of her sixth album last year – fans have found a new lease of love for the track and made it go viral.
Following a new trend on TikTok, ‘Party 4 U’ has now made its way onto the US Viral Spotify 100 chart, coming in at Number 80 and becoming the highest new entry.

In response, Charli took to X/Twitter and said: “It’s p crazy that this song is suddenly getting love in this kinda way. I know this song means so much to so many angels. she’s a cutie <3”.
The online trend that has sparked the interest in the song sees fans lip-sync to the track, replicating a moment on RuPaul’s Drag Race, where fan favourite contestant delivered a lip-synched rendition of Paula Abdul’s ‘Cold Hearted’.
Charli’s comments about the track come just days after she admitted that she was wanting to team up with Clairo to work on a Lou Reed-inspired album. She made the claim following their live collaboration of ‘Sophia’ at the Melbourne edition of Laneway Festival 2025, saying: “I really had fun doing it and it got me thinking, what if we made a record with guitars or strings or both. Lou Reed era maybe, I dunno just saying.”
It also echoes comments made by the pop star’s producers who recently revealed that her next full-length effort is currently leaning towards being “anti-Brat”.
In other Charli news, the singer won three awards at the Grammys 2025 earlier this month: Best Dance Pop Recording (‘Von Dutch’), Best Dance/Electronic Album (‘Brat’) and Best Recording Package (‘Brat’).
She is up for five prizes at next month’s BRIT Awards 2025 including Artist Of The Year and Album Of The Year (‘Brat’).
