Charli XCX gives ‘Brat’ remix album tracklist to fans and asks them to “put it online”

Charli XCX has shared the tracklist for her new ‘Brat’ remix album with fans, and urged them to share it online.

The singer announced a reimagined version of the album that became a cultural phenomenon this summer last month. Set for release on Friday (October 11), it’s titled ‘Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat’ – visit here to pre-save.

It was quickly rumoured to be a star-studded new version of the original tracklist, and has so far been previewed with ‘Von Dutch’ featuring Addison Rae, ‘Girl, So Confusing’ with Lorde, ‘360’ with Robyn and Yung Lean, ‘Guess’ with Billie Eilish, and ‘Talk Talk’ with Troye Sivan (as well as a spoken contribution from Dua Lipa).

More hype around which famous faces could feature on the record also came as XCX’s team started erecting ‘Brat’ green billboards, featuring the names of artists like The 1975, Bon Iver and Tinashe. Some fake billboards were also circulated online, leading fans to believe Fred Durst, among others, could appear.

Now, the ‘360’ singer has not only dropped the full list of names she has enlisted for the ‘Brat’ remix, but also shared the full tracklist with fans at a new show.

Taking place at her show in Orlando, Florida – as part of her ongoing ‘Sweat’ tour with Troye Sivan – the singer had the official tracklist flash up on the screens and encouraged fans to share it far and wide.

“It’s called ‘Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat’ or something like that, I can’t even remember. This is the tracklist with all the features,” she is seen telling the audience in fan footage from the show. “I need somebody to take a picture of it and put it online after the show. You’re gonna do it? Make sure someone gets it.”

The photo showed that Ariana Grande will be featuring on ‘Sympathy Is A Knife’, Julian Casablancas will be on ‘Mean Girls’, and Caroline Polachek will star on the remixed version of ‘Everything Is Romantic’.

Other noteworthy collaborations include Shygirl on ‘365’, The 1975 and Jon Hopkins on ‘I Might Say Something Stupid’ and The Japanese House on ‘Apple’. Check it out below.

Since the release of the original album in June, Charli’s sixth studio record has gone on to make some huge waves across the music industry and become a pop culture phenomenon – gaining fans in Vice President Kamala Harris, former POTUS Barack Obama, NATO and more.

It was also given a four-star review from NME, which read: “On the self-described “club record”, XCX offers pure party girl hedonism. Percolating beats, brash synths, left-field production and vocal lines that flit between bratty quips or honest one-liners. With ‘Brat’, XCX demonstrates that going her own way will always sound pretty good.”

The live shows with Troye Sivan were also given a five-star review by NME, which labelled the two as “former pop underdogs cement[ing] their status as arena-slaying icons”.

Last month, A. G. Cook – who is now featuring on ‘So I’ – and Finn Keane spoke to NME at the 2024 Mercury Prize about what it was like to produce the album, as well as revealing the thing that sets Charli XCX apart from everyone else.

“This album was very different to work on than pretty much everything else that I’ve taken part in because it was so focused and relentless. Charli really has this clear vision,” Cook explained. “We knew it was going to be called ‘Brat’ for the entire two years of making it, and we cut anything that wasn’t ‘Brat. If it didn’t feel ‘Brat’, it was gone! We’d barely even talk about it again out of embarrassment of it not being ‘Brat’ enough.”

Keane continued: “Charli always has a vision of where she is and where she wants to go, but with this, I think it was more than ever.”
