Chappell Roan’s ‘Midwest Princess’ Spotify Streams Doubled This Summer

She also had Spotify’s most-streamed album in the U.S. last week, beating out Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish among others

With Chappell Roan in the midst of her pop superstar breakthrough this summer, streams on her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess have doubled over the past two months, according to data from Spotify.

From June 1, the album’s streams rose 100 percent in the U.S., Spotify said, affirming the major moment your favorite artist’s favorite artist has enjoyed on the festival circuit this summer, playing a viral show at Governor’s Ball the first weekend of June and drawing a massive crowd at her Lollapalooza set last week.

According to the streaming service, Midwest Princess is the most-streamed album in the country this week, a first for Roan as she beats out heavy hitters like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish for the top spot. As Billboard reported Sunday, the album hit a new peak on its 200 Albums chart, climbing up to Number Four.

“Pink Pony Club’s” streams rose 220 percent in the same time period, per Spotify, while “Hot to Go” has jumped 135 percent. As of Monday, “Good Luck, Babe” is the top song on Spotify’s U.S. Top 50, and fifth on the global chart. “Hot to Go” and “Pony Club” are 10 and 12 on the U.S. chart, and she’s got three more songs throughout the top 50.

Roan is one of the marquee acts alongside Sabrina Carpenter headlining a new generation of pop stars, answering some of the music industry’s worries as labels had grown concerned in recent years of a dearth of burgeoning pop acts.
