Chappell Roan Will Headline Laneway Festival 2026

Chappell Roan will head down under early next year, for a spot headlining the Laneway Festival.

With her Laneway debut in the southern summer, the Midwest native will mark her first-ever national tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The traveling, day-long festival will kick off at Western Springs in Auckland on Feb. 5, 2026 then head west for dates on the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and comes to a halt Feb. 1 at Perth’s Arena Joondalup.

Roan is untouchably hot in these parts right now. In January of this year, her hit “Good Luck, Babe” came in at No. 1 on triple j’s Hottest 100, with the greatest number of votes ever for a winning track in the countdown. Also, Roan became the first solo female artist to win with a debut and sole entry.

From humble beginnings in Melbourne’s New Caledonian Lane, to expanding with dates as far afield as Singapore and Detroit, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has the enviable reputation for booking the coolest acts before they go supernova. For one, Billie Eilish played Laneway in 2018, as she was flying to the highest points of pop music.

Co-founded by Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio, and now part of TEG’s live entertainment portfolio, Laneway Festival booked Charli XCX to play at the 2025 edition. That run drew over 200,000 music fans to sold-out shows across six cities, plus another 40,000 at sideshows.

Other performers at Laneway 2026 include BENEE, Wolf Alice, Role Model, Wet Leg and many more.

According to organizers, next year’s run will feature 35% more artists, a brand new East Coast stage, and a third of the lineup making their Australian debut.

The general onsale starts Sept. 24 from 10am AEST, a day after the Laneway Festival pre-sale, with staggered release times across each city.
