Chappell Roan is going to keep on dancing at the “Pink Pony Club,” and now, she wants fans and supporters to join her as she launches The Super Graphic Spectacular, a charity event spanning two days to benefit trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities.
The star and The Midwest Princess Project — Roan’s non-profit initiative — announced the “immersive” event on Friday (Aug. 7). Set for Oct. 21-22 at The Shrine in Los Angeles, The Super Graphic Spectacular is a live event that will feature headlining performances from the Grammy winner while also featuring drag performers, advocates and comedians. And according to the press release, the event “will bring together artists, fans, creatives and advocates to celebrate queer joy, visibility and collective action.”
Ticket information, the lineup, special guests and more will be revealed at a later date. However, the event will employ AXS’ fan-first Fair AXS approach to help ensure that the process to obtain tickets will be fair and transparent in an effort to weed out scalpers and bots. For now, those who are interested in attending can pre-register via The Super Graphic Spectacular’s website. Registration will close on Aug. 11 at 8:59 p.m. PT. Fans who are selected to buy tickets will receive a private purchase link.
The release noted that “every dollar raised” from the charity event will go toward The Midwest Princess Project’s “ongoing initiatives committed to fostering care, connection and access to resources.” The fundraiser also marks a year of the initiative’s impact and work on raising money to help fund programs that support LGTBQ+ communities and trans youth. To date, it has raised $800,000 through Roan’s shows and donations.
Before Roan’s spectacular takes place in October, the star — who so far has landed nine songs on the Billboard Hot 100, while debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 — she’s set to take the stage at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields. The “Vampire” singer announced her festival, which supports charities dedicated to helping women and girls, on June 22. The event will feature an all-women lineup that also includes Stevie Nicks, KATSEYE and Doechii.
