Yesterday (September 4), the ‘Hot To Go’ singer took to social media to share a video in which she addressed a significant amount of tickets for an upcoming show being bought by scalpers and bots, leaving actual fans unable to score tickets.

The show is set to take place on October 1 in Franklin, Tennessee. The former NME Cover star said in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter): “Scalpers and bots just bought up all the tickets so we went through and cancelled all the scalper tickets that we could.”

“I want to make sure that tickets go to people who actually want to come and are fans,” she continued.

The singer went on to share that she will be selling those same tickets back to fans in a limited quantity, directing fans to an online Ticketmaster form where they can request for spots.

“This is the best solution that makes sense to me and my team. I know it’s confusing and it’s so annoying, but I’m genuinely so pissed about the scalper situation and think that people actually deserve to get to my show. This is a larger issue, and we’re dealing with it. I can’t wait to see people who actually deserve to be here, it means everything to me,” Chappell Roan concluded.

Ticketing issues have been building in the industry for a long time now. Most recently, it was revealed that tickets to Adele’s final concert before going on an indefinite hiatus have skyrocketed to over 10 times their original cost. Last weekend, Oasis fans were also thrown for a loop when Ticketmaster’s automatic “dynamic pricing” system kicked in while queueing to purchases tickets to the band’s reunion shows next year.

In other Chappell Roan-related news, she recently announced the cancellation of a handful of her European gigs, sighting “scheduling conflicts”, although her manager noted they were not “stretching things too thin” and not doing “a load” of collaborations.

Roan also recently  spoke out against “weird” and “creepy” behaviour from fans, telling them: “That’s not normal.” Her remarks earned her praise from Paramore‘s Hayley Williams, who took to Instagram to say the pop star was “brave”.
