The London singer-songwriter is due to release the follow-up to her Mercury Prize -shortlisted 2024 debut, ‘Early Twenties’, on October 31. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.

The latest taster from the record ‘Please Don’t Hate Me’ follows ‘All This Love’ and ‘GIRLS!’.

Speaking about the album previously, Burns said: “‘How To Be Human’ is about the last year of my life. I experienced the death of a loved one and my first relationship heartbreak at the same time, and genuinely had no idea how I would get through the situation.”

The latest track from the album arrives as Burns continues her stint on The Celebrity Traitors on which she is serving as a traitor on the BBC show alongside comedian Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross. The series will run until October 24.

Elsewhere the BRIT Award-nominated artist and NME 100 alumni will showcase ‘How To Be Human’ on a UK headline tour this winter. She’ll play a huge show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton as part of the trek.

Other dates are scheduled in Glasgow, Manchester, Brighton, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Bristol in November.

Any remaining tickets are available here and all dates can be found here.

Speaking to NME last year, the singer spoke about why she thought ‘Early Twenties’ had captured people’s imagination.

“I think it’s a great album and there are a wide range of song topics,” she said. “People can reminisce. It’s got a nostalgic feel to it. I think it’s alright – it’s a good album!”

Opening up about the period of her life that had inspired her to write, Burns added: “There are just so many firsts: first love, first heartbreak, I had so many diagnoses. I’m excited to go through the next part of my life and have not so many firsts! I can just exist a little bit.”
