Cardi’s long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Am I The Drama?’ is set for release this Friday (September 19) via Atlantic/Warner – and you can pre-order/pre-save the album here. So far, the record has been previewed ‘Outside’ and ‘Imaginary Playerz’, with previous hits ‘WAP’ and ‘Up’ also set to feature on the album.

Yesterday (September 15), the rapper partnered with Spotify to announce the record’s eight featured artists, writing: “WHO ELSE IS THE DRAMA?” on Instagram, sharing that Cash Cobain, Janet Jackson, Kehlani, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, Tyla and Megan Thee Stallion will all appear.

As for the latter, Cardi had already confirmed their collab ‘WAP’ would appear on ‘Am I the Drama?’, and likewise, 2021’s ‘Up’ would too. When fans were critical of the fact that the 23-track album would also include her two previously released hits, she defended their inclusion, telling listeners, “Go cry about it!”

As for other collaborators on the record, Cardi had also previously tapped Kehlani for ‘Ring’, taken from her 2018 debut ‘Invasion of Privacy’, and featured on Lizzo’s 2021 single ‘Rumors’, as well as appearing on Walker’s album ‘Still Over It’ on ‘Bitter – Narration by Cardi B. Cardi and Gomez have also previously collaborated on DJ Snake‘s 2018 smash “Taki Taki,” also featuring Ozuna.

The album’s promotion has spurned several viral moments, with the ‘Bodak Yellow’ artist taking to the streets and subways of New York to sell the record, posing as a bootleg seller and hosting a pop-up shop at a bodega to promote the LP.

It also follows Cardi making headlines after clips of her on the witness stand at an assault trial also went viral after she delivered several funny quips, often pausing to make bemused faces in her cross-examination and delivering dry one-liners about the alleged incident.

Having won that trial in a quick victory, she gave a warning to others thinking of taking on “frivolous” lawsuits against, saying she was “not that celeb you gonna sue and you think is going to settle”.

Her debut album was given a four-star review from NME back in 2018, with Nick Levine writing: “Overall, this is a remarkably confident and compelling debut from a superstar who’s put in the graft. “My little 15 minutes lasting long as hell, huh?” she boasts nonchalantly on final track ‘I Do’. On this evidence, it’s going to last a lot longer yet.”
