The rapper has welcomed a baby boy with her boyfriend, New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

She confirmed the news in an Instagram video posted yesterday (November 13), where she lipsyncs ‘Hello’, from her most recent album ‘Am I The Drama?‘.

Alongside the clip, Cardi wrote: “My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons. My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over is never easy but it’s been so worth it!

“I brought new music and a new album to the world! A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve.”

She continued: “This next chapter is Me vs. Me! It’s me against all odds me against everything meant to get in my way. I’ve started prepping for tour getting my body right getting my mind right. There’s nothing thats gonna stop me from giving you guys the performance of a life time! I’ve learned I’ve healed, and I’m loving the woman I’ve become! That’s what this next era means to me and I’m stepping into it better than ever.”

On her story, the rapper posted a video looking at pink and floral baby strollers, adding in a voiceover, that she had “just had a boy.” “I just like girly things!” she added.

Cardi’s released her latest album ‘Am I The Drama?’ this year, and it was given a two-star review from NME, and described as “overstuffed and underwhelming”.

“Ultimately, ‘Am I The Drama?’ is palatable enough for a one-time listen, but nothing here demands a replay,” it read. “Where ‘Invasion of Privacy’ felt fun and feel-good, its follow-up is bloated, derivative and unsure of its own identity. Cardi doesn’t just recycle her past tricks, she half-asses other people’s legacies too, and the result is a bloated, soulless shell that never finds its own voice.”

Cash Cobain, Janet Jackson, Kehlani, Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, Tyla and Megan Thee Stallion are all guest features on the new LP.

Ahead of its release, she promoted it in a few unorthodox ways, including recording public service announcements for the NYC subway.
