BTS’ Jin Taps ONE OK ROCK’s Taka For New Version of ‘Falling’ Solo Single

BTS‘ Jin has cooked up a Thanksgiving treat for ARMY. The singer dropped a new version of his solo track “Falling” on Tuesday (Nov. 26), spicing the finger-snapping, whistle pop tune with some additional vocals from collaborator and ONE OK ROCK lead singer Taka.

The B-side from Jin’s recently released debut solo album, Happy, finds the K-pop superstar pining for a distant lover while power vocalist Taka adds some grit and soaring runs to the song featuring the desperate refrain “My heart beats for you/ All for you/ One step closer/ Until I reach you.” The original version of “Falling” was co-produced and co-written by Taka and ONE OK ROCK guitarist Toru.

“With the addition of Taka’s powerful voice, the song lets you feel the emotions of love in a new, deeper way,” read a statement from label Big Hit Music about the new version of the song.

To date, Jin has released the solo singles “I’ll Be There” and “Running Wild” from Happy and on the latest Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Nov. 30), for the first time ever three K-pop albums are in the top 10 concurrently. In addition to Happy (which debuts at No. 4), ATEEZ’s Golden Hour: Part.2 debuts at No. 1 and ENYPEN’s ROMANCE: UNTOLD re-enters the chart at No. 7 thanks to an expanded reissue.

Jin was the seventh, and final, member of BTS to release a full solo project and the 31-year-old singer recently told Billboard that putting the album together allowed him to “pause and reflect” on how much ARMY means to him. “As I worked on each track, I thought about what I wanted to convey to them, how I want to bring joy and happiness to them, while also expressing how much I missed them during our time apart,” he said.
