BTS’ Jin shares heartwarming rockabilly single ‘I’ll Be There’

Jin of BTS has dropped a pre-release single titled ‘I’ll Be There’ alongside its music video, ahead of his highly anticipated solo debut album.

Both the single and its accompanying music video were released on Friday (October 25). Titled ‘I’ll Be There’, the track pays homage to the rockabilly genre, mixed with elements of pop rock and trot.

In the video, Jin performs the song live with an accompanying band in the middle of a parking lot, as hordes of fans swarm the parking lot to celebrate the performance.

“The track conveys a sincere message, aiming to uplift those who feel downhearted and alone by delivering joy through Jin’s playful yet straightforward style,” a press release stated about the song, adding that the BTS vocalist himself had co-produced ‘I’ll Be There’ in partnership with American singer-songwriter MAX.

Jin’s debut solo album, ‘Happy’ is due out on November 15. The record was revealed to feature six tracks that “explore Jin’s discovery to discover true happiness”, a press release said. “Throughout the album, Jin candidly and wholeheartedly shares a range of emotions such as love, excitement, and courage – essential ingredients to reaching true happiness.”

According to the tracklist released October 17, ‘Happy’ will be headlined by the track ‘Running Wild’, co-written and -produced by Gary Barlow of British boyband Take That. It will also feature a duet with Red Velvet’s Wendy on the song ‘Heart on the Window’. Other songs revealed to be part of the album include ‘I’ll Be There’, ‘Another Level’, ‘Until I Reach You’ and ‘Longing’.

Big Hit Music first announced the upcoming album on October 14, shortly after the singer released the full version of his 2021 song ‘Super Tuna’. The forthcoming release of ‘Happy’ will make Jin the seventh and final member of BTS to drop a solo album.

The singer made his solo debut in late 2022 with single ‘The Astronaut’, which was co-written by Coldplay, shortly before he enlistined for mandatory military service. Jin was officially discharged from service in June.
