Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes and his partner Alissic have welcomed twins.
The married couple announced that they were expecting a baby boy and a girl in May. This week, Alissic shared a photograph of the two babies on social media.
“Amor infinito 🗝️ Grey & Zélia 🕯️🤍,” she wrote as the caption, in her native Portuguese. The first part of this translates to “infinite love”, with the second part revealing the twins’ names.
In the comments section, the likes of Yungblud, Nova Twins and BBC Radio 1 presenter Jack Saunders shared their congratulations.
Brazilian model and alt-pop singer Alissic – real name Alissa Salls – and BMTH frontman Sykes got married in 2017, having met when she was working on a project for his Drop Dead clothing line. They have collaborated on various times, including on Alissic’s debut EP ‘ARC 01: MAIDEN’ and Bring Me’s ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’.
Speaking to NME last month, Alissic was asked about the impact of pregnancy on her creative life, and said that becoming a mother would “inspire” her.
“It’s definitely made me feel more connected with my inner child. I feel so excited about it. I know that whatever I do will be connected to this childish world now,” she replied. “That’s a part of me. I’m just really excited for what’s to come – but I have no idea what’s going to happen.”
She added: “I don’t think I’ve ever even held a baby before […] In being a parent, you see the world again to show it to your kids. All the magic comes back to you a little bit, so I’m sure that will definitely impact my art.”
In April, Sykes revealed that he was back in the studio, sharing two images of himself in a recording space.
Bring Me The Horizon will Reading & Leeds 2025 next month, and Sykes told NME last December that the band would have “a few more songs” ready for the big slots. That followed previous teases that there were tracks as part of ‘Nex Gen: Director’s Cut’ that he wanted to release.
BMTH have also announced a North American arena tour for autumn 2025, and they will appear at the Louder Than Life festival in the US in September.
Last week, Bring Me shared an album of lo-fi re-workings of some of their biggest songs, ‘Lo-files’.
The Sheffield outfit released their seventh and latest studio record, ‘Post Human: Nex Gen’, in May 2024. It was later named as one of NME‘s best albums of the year, and praised for “set[ting] new bars for modern metal”.
