‘Break Stuff’: Watch Fred Durst angrily swat down drone at Limp Bizkit’s Turkey show

Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst angrily swatted a drone down during a recent show in Turkey.

The band were performing their 2000 hit single ‘Take A Look Around’ at the Atakoy Marina in Istabul on Sunday (August 17), when the incident occurred.

During the instrumental for the track, the drone slowly floated towards Durst before he hailed it towards him and then smashed it down with his microphone into the audience. You can view footage below.

He then told a security guard to “throw it out in the crowd” before the band ironically launched into their 2000 single ‘Break Stuff’.

The show came ahead of the band’s forthcoming appearance at Reading & Leeds in the UK this weekend, with this year’s edition of the dual-festival set to take place between August 20 and 24.

The band will warm up for headliners Bring Me The Horizon on the Main Stage at the former on the Saturday (August 23) before they do the same thing again in Leeds the following night (August 24).

Other acts on the bill include the remaining headliners Chappell Roan, Travis Scott and Hozier along with the likes of D-Block Europe, Heartworms, former Little Mix member Leigh-Anne, AJ Tracey, Lola Young, Becky Hill, Amyl And The Sniffers, Bloc Party, The Kooks, The Dare, Enter Shikari, Wallows, Sea Girls, Mannequin Pussy, Soft Play, and Lambrini Girls.

New for this year, two brand new stages have been introduced as well. These are the Smirnoff Stage in Reading and the Reload Stage in Leeds, and both are designed to celebrate “the underground electronic communities blazing a path through modern UK culture”, as well as continue the festival’s “trend of innovation”

Meanwhile, the band recently confirmed that they were back in the studio to work on new music. Their last album was 2021’s ‘Still Sucks’, itself their first LP in a decade. In a three-star review, NME described it as a “lean and self-aware party-starter of a sixth album” and wrote: “‘Still Sucks’ doesn’t feel laboured or overthought and never overstays its welcome. Limp Bizkit aren’t out to rewrite their history or reach a new generation. They don’t care if you still think they suck – they still know how to have a good time, and won’t stop rollin’.”

Elsewhere, Durst’s ex-wife Kseniya Beryazina put her dress from the former couple’s
wedding up for auction earlier this month.
