Blink-182 announced Monday that it will lend its hand to those affected by the devastating Los Angeles fires by hosting a concert on Feb. 13 at the Hollywood Palladium. All of the ticket proceeds will go toward relief efforts.
Opening for the rock band that night will be Alkaline Trio, fronted by Matt Skiba, who served as Blink-182’s co-lead vocalist while Tom DeLonge was away from the band between 2015 and 2022. (Fans on Instagram encouraged Blink to welcome Skiba onstage for a “quartet formation” during the show.)
Tickets for the one-night-only event will go on sale Monday at 3 p.m. PT via Ticketmaster. The ticketing platform will only allow fans to exchange tickets via their Face Value Exchange program to prevent ticket scalping. Fans who purchase tickets and are unable to go will also be able to resell their seat at face value.
Proceeds for the event will go toward four organizations helping those affected by the L.A. fires: the LAFD Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, and the Pasadena Humane Society.
Last week, Travis Barker visited the Rose Bowl Complex to meet with incarcerated firefighters and other first responders. “These guys are heroes,” he wrote on his Instagram story, per People. “They are risking their lives to serve people. Save people. Help people. And becoming men in the process.”
“A lot of them came from the juvenile system and this program gives them the ability for real change and to make a difference. To see the humanity in all of them was amazing.”
The Blink-182 show will follow a slew of other music events across the country scheduled to help support the victims of the L.A. fires. On Thursday, the Azoffs will host the likes of Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks, Katy Perry, Tate McRae, and Joni Mitchell during a two-venue livestreamed show from Inglewood.
As of Saturday, 28 people have died in the fires, according to NBC News. Hundreds of others have lost their homes and close to 200,000 people were forced to evacuate.
