The deal was announced on January 28, with Warner Records describing their new partnership with the Korean singer-actor an “all-encompassing global solo deal”. The news comes days after Jisoo announced the upcoming release of a new mini-album ‘Amortage’ on February 14.

Warner Records houses and distributes music for Paramore, Arctic Monkeys, Bebe Rexha, Anne-Marie and more. “There is no question that Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we have no doubt that her solo career will be even more impactful. The energy, passion, and artistry Jisoo brings to her music is on another level,” said Warner Records co-chairman and CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck in a press statement.

Jisoo also shared her thoughts on her new partnership with the American record label: “I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey. I feel like I’m just getting started and I’d like to thank the BLINKs for all of their love and support. This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”

The K-pop idol’s upcoming solo mini-album ‘Amortage’ is described as “her most comprehensive solo yet” and represents her “rebirth” as an artist. Its title is a portmanteau of the words ‘amor’ (Latin word meaning love) and ‘montage,’ representing the record’s “[encapsulation] of the emotional stages of love and the defining moments of a relationship”.

‘Amortage’ will mark Jisoo’s first music since establishing Blissoo in early 2024, following her departure from long-time agency YG Entertainment. The album will also be her first solo material since she first went solo two years ago with the single album ‘Me’. Released in March 2023, that record included the title track ‘Flower’ and one B-side, ‘All Eyes On Me’.

In addition to her upcoming music, Jisoo will also star in Coupang Play and Prime Video’s original K-drama Newtopia, which will also feature The 8 Show actor Park Jeong-min. The apocalyptic romantic-comedy series marks the singer-actress’ second leading role, following 2021’s Snowdrop.
