BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently made a guest appearance on American talk show The Jennifer Hudson Show in support of her upcoming debut solo album ‘Ruby’. In an exclusive online clip of her appearance, the K-pop star spoke about her future acting projects and what fans could expect.
Jennie said “definitely yes”, when asked by host Jennifer Hudson about whether fans could see the K-pop idol in acting projects in the future. “But I wanna focus on my album just [for] now,” Jennie added. She notably made her silver screen debut with a supporting role on HBO’s The Idol.
When asked if she has a dream role in mind, Jennie admitted that she doesn’t have one just yet. “To be honest, for the past year and a half, I’ve been so focused on being inspired with this album that I have no brain energy left to think about who I wanna be,” she explained. “Definitely more in the future for me, hopefully.”
Jennie is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Ruby’ on March 7. The record will feature the singles ‘ExtraL’ with Doechii, ‘Mantra’, ‘Zen’ and ‘Love Hangover’ featuring Dominic Fike.
In a recent interview with Hits Radio, Jennie revealed that she had “been manifesting” a collaboration with Doechii “for the longest time”. The singer added that “it takes time and things need to really work out and coordinate together for a song to work out, and it magically did”.
The Korean singer also shared a glimpse into the album’s creation process, adding that “so many different emotions have been put into this album”. She added. “Every little step was experimenting and going out of that comfort zone and really trying something new and fun and being crazy and bold and vulnerable.”
