Billie Eilish insists solo tour is “not the end” of working with Finneas

Billie Eilish has insisted that she will continue working with her brother and collaborator Finneas, despite him being largely absent from her current tour.

The pop star is on the North American leg of her ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ world tour. However, the trek marks the first time she has performed shows without her co-writer and producer – who is touring in support of his second solo album, ‘For Cryin’ Out Loud!’.

Finneas also revealed recently that Eilish was learning to “do home production without” him, saying “she’s very good at it”.

During a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, it was noted that Finneas would be joining his sister onstage “as his schedule permits”. He played ‘Happier Than Ever’ with Eilish at her gig in Newark, New Jersey last Wednesday (October 9).

When asked by the publication if any conclusions should be drawn from Finneas’ absence, Eilish responded: “It’s really not the end of anything. You can’t be in two places at once.”

Finneas explained that the duo had initially thought that Eilish’s third and most recent album, ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’, “would be the one where we have a bunch of friends come in” to collaborate.

He continued: “Third album, you know, it’s like, How do you reinspire yourself? How do you reinvent the wheel? How do you keep it fresh? But it just didn’t end up shaking out that way.”

Eilish added: “Instead, we made the most autobiographical album we’ve ever made.”

Speaking to Guitar.COM last month about Eilish beginning to record music by herself, Finneas said: “I’ve been giving her, like, the bare minimum of stuff, just so that she learns it all.

“I’m like, ‘Listen, I could give you all the stuff that I use now, but it took me years to even have a use for it. And, if I give you this basic thing, it’ll make sense to you right away’.”

Eilish previously opened up about how she and Finneas had “never, ever, ever loved something more” than her latest record, adding: “We hope you enjoy it so much and I’ll see you on the other side.”

The singer will head to the UK and Ireland next summer, with that portion of the ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ tour including six nights at London’s O2.

Meanwhile, Finneas has confirmed solo dates in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Europe and North America for 2025.

In other news, Eilish has said she never wants to talk about her sexuality and love life publicly “ever again”.
