Beyoncé’s father Matthew Knowles responds to Kanye West’s “stupid” comments about his grandchildren

Beyoncé’s father Matthew Knowles has responded to Kanye West’s “stupid” comments about his grandchildren.

Earlier this week (March 18), Ye made a series of posts on X/Twitter that included attacks on the twin seven-year-old children of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Rumi and Sir Carter. He alleged the couple used in vitro fertilisation to conceive the children and threw their cognitive development into question.

“Wait has anyone ever seen Jay-Z and Beyonce’s younger kids they’re r*******,” he wrote. “No like literally and this is why artificial insemination is such a blessing having r******* children is a choice.”

He then deleted the post and later re-uploaded it, doubling down on his stance. This involved clarifying to his followers that he had not deleted the post in order to be “a good person”.

Now, Knowles Sr. has had his say on the matter, telling TMZ on Friday (March 21): “People pay a price for being stupid, especially in the music industry. I’m hopeful Kanye gets the type of help he needs, in terms of mental health.”

His comments follow on from Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles also hitting out at Kanye for the offensive remarks this week. “It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil,” she wrote on Instagram. “But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lords, I know that God has got this.”

Beyoncé and Jay-Z are reportedly considering taking legal action against West for the comments, with a source telling Page Six that the couple found the remarks “shocking” and they will “absolutely not stand for” the “vulgar and offensive” remarks.

Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian has also hit out at the rapper for the comments. Another anonymous source recently spoke to Page Six and said that Kardashian is “appalled” by the posts and is “done trying to be reasonable with Kanye when it comes to communication.”

Elsewhere, Beyoncé has added a second Las Vegas date to her upcoming ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour due to “incredible” fan demand. NME awarded the album five stars, noting: “Even if interpreted only on the grounds of artistic spectacle, it’s an undeniable thrill to see [Beyoncé] swing so big on a project that dares her to be so intimate and vocal-focused, while making way for country’s up-and-comers too.”
