The businesswoman and fashion designer appeared on the Sibling Revelry podcast, where host Kate Hudson asked her about the experience of seeing her granddaughters Blue and Rumi joining their mother on stage at the recent Cowboy Carter Tour shows.
Referring to her habit of sharing videos and photos on social media, she replied: “I’m the biggest cheerleader. I post 25 videos, and then I get a call, and Beyoncé will be like, ‘Mama, can you not post so much? Like c’mon now, when are you ever going to stop posting? You’re doing too much’.”
“I never want to be jaded about it or take it for granted, it’s still really exciting for me. I just think about how blessed we are to be passionate about something and for it to come to life like that. I mean, I don’t take it for granted. Ever.”
Opening up about her relationship with her daughter, Tina added: “It’s great and it’s fun, but I’m glad [the tour is] over. It’s her show, it’s her stuff. She runs the show and I’m just like everybody else in terms of being there to support her. But sometimes, you know, we go at it, because we are mother and daughter, and we have differences in opinion. I have sense enough to know, that’s her stuff. We get along really, really well.”
In April, Tina Knowles reflected on the rumours in 2011 that Beyoncé had faked her pregnancy, describing it as “one of the worst times” of her life. “To hear people say the most horrendous things and to call my whole family a lie — because we would all have to be part of that conspiracy and lie about something so sacred — it was one of the worst times of my life, because I couldn’t say anything,” she said.
Tina also hit out at Kanye West earlier this year for his controversial remarks about the cognitive development of Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s children. “It’s hard to remain positive and classy in the face of ignorance and evil,” she said. “But I know that no weapon formed against me or my family shall prosper. This battle is not mine, but the Lords, I know that God has got this.”
In her memoir Matriarch, she also revealed to fans that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.
As for Beyoncé, fans are convinced she is gearing up for a new era. At the end of a recent Levi’s ad, she is seen adopting a darker look with glam-rock style jeans as she drives off on a motorcycle, which some feel suggests her next album might see her move in a rock direction.
