Barry Manilow Announces First New Album in 15 Years, Shares Single ‘Sun Shine’

The musician will release What a Time, his 33rd album, this summer

Barry Manilow will release What a Time, his first new album in nearly 15 years, on June 5. The album was produced by Manilow and his longtime collaborator Michael Lloyd, and marks Manilow’s 33rd studio album and his first almost all-original LP since 2011’s 15 Minutes.

The 13-track LP features collaborations with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Dave Cobb, and the musician’s longtime co-writers Bruce Sussman and Adrienne Anderson. Manilow shared the first single, “Sun Shine,” which was written by Manilow and Gary Barlow and produced by Manilow, David Benson, and Greg Bartheld.

What a Time opens with previously-released single “Once Before I Go,” a love song executive-produced by Clive Davis and co-written by Dean Pitchford and Peter Allen. The album also includes a duet with Sharon “Muffy” Hendrix and an appearance by Dave Koz.

The announcement comes not long after Manilow postponed his arena tour after undergoing surgery to remove a “cancerous spot” on his lung. He was scheduled to kick off his 2026 farewell tour dates in January, but was forced to reschedule. Then, in February, Manilow said he would have to push back the dates again as he needed more time to recover before appearing on stage. He is now set to begin his tour on April 13 in Belmont Park, New York, at the UBS Arena.

What a Time is available to pre-order and pre-save now.
