Avalon Emerson has shared her energetic new single ‘Don’t Be Seen With Me’. Check it out below.
‘Don’t Be Seen With Me’ sees Emerson return to her dance roots with a cover of Oppenheimer Analysis’ cult classic track. her version of the song leans more into a slower pop vibe in contrast to the original’s ’80s jumpy beat.
Filmed by Collin Hughes, the song’s accompanying video sees Emerson sitting in a small metallic room while singing the song.
‘Don’t Be Seen With Me’ is the musician’s first release under her new label home of Dead Oceans. The track also marks the first of her new project ‘Perpetual Emotion Machine’.
According to a press release, the ‘Perpetual Emotion Machine’ has been described as “a living, evolving project; a conduit for human connection on the dance floor which sees Emerson pull from different genres across different decades, reaching into the mosaic of dance music’s past and future to help us connect with each other right now.”
Speaking about the project, Emerson shared: “These songs were created for my DJ sets. Whether they’re entirely original, edits to re-contextualise old favourites, instrumental, or feature me singing, they are all part of my perpetual emotion machine. And the machine steams on.”
