AURORA faces “the invisible enemy” of anger and sadness on enchanting new single ‘The Flood’

AURORA has returned with her latest single, the mysterious and enchanting ‘The Flood’ – listen to it below.

The Norwegian art-pop singer last released new music with her fifth studio album ‘What Happened To The Heart?’ in June 2024, and now embarks on a new era with this song.

I’ve been under pressure all my life and I feel like I’m losing all my fights,” she sings on the track’s recurring motif over sparse, warm electronic beats. Watch the visualiser here:

AURORA has said: “This is a song about the invisible enemy. What brings you anger, what brings you worry and sadness. What makes you crawl into yourself instead of meeting the world fully. A song about searching for someone or something to blame, when you know perfectly well that the only solution lies within yourself.”

‘The Flood’ is available on streaming services as of Friday (April 4), released via Decca Records.

AURORA has found herself at the centre of attention in recent weeks as her song ‘Through The Eyes Of A Child’ featured prominently in the final episode of Netflix’s smash hit show Adolescence. The track was originally released on the singer’s 2016 debut album ‘All My Demons Greeting Me’.

“It’s a strange and wonderful thing to see people connecting with this song,” she said about its inclusion. “The world around me has changed so much since I wrote it. And now the words mean a lot more to me.

“The deep need for the world to stop neglecting the inner child, and confusing innocence with weakness,” she continued. “I hope the song gives people something good. It was always written in the hope that it would find people and treat them kindly. Though it’s strange to me, that it’s out there living its own life – I find it very beautiful.”

In February, AURORA celebrated the tenth anniversary of her breakthrough single ‘Runaway’ with a new documentary, Portrait Of A Song.

AURORA is set to head out on a UK and European tour, which includes a huge show at London’s Wembley Arena. Visit here for tickets and more information.
