Warner Bros. has announced that Ariana Grande will be leading the voice case for its upcoming animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic, which is due to arrive sometime in 2028 – according to a Variety report, it’s slated to arrive in March of that year on IMAX.

While plot points have yet to be revealed, Grande will be joined by Josh Gad in the main voice cast. The film is being directed by Jon M. Chu, who has most recently helmed Wicked and the upcoming sequel Wicked: For Good – both of which star Grande. Jill Culton will co-direct.

Further details on who Ariana Grande and Josh Gad are voicing have yet to be announced.

First published in 1990, Oh, The Places You’ll Go! is one of Dr. Seuss’ most successful and beloved books. It follows a young, unnamed protagonist who ventures out into the world, experiencing a range of different scenarios, targeted to encourage readers to forge their own path in life and how to deal with negative and positive experiences.

Wicked: For Good is due for release on November 21. Its first trailer was released back in June, and offers viewers a looks at the immediate fallout of the first film, and teases the arrival of Dorothy and the gang.

Wicked received a four-star review from NME, with Nick Levine writing: “By the end, you won’t quite be levitating off your seat but you’ll definitely be enchanted enough to stream the soundtrack on the way home. Funny, colourful and full of empathy for outsiders, this film really is the Shiz.”

Chu claimed last year that sequel For Good is “more relevant” to where we are “in society right now,”: “Part Two, I will say because I’ve cut Part Two together, is a doozy. “[You’re] getting the meat. I did not know the context of where we’d be in society right now. It becomes eight times more relevant than before when you’re talking about truth and consequences of making the right or wrong choices. It’s intense.”
