Arcángel Says He’s the ‘Eighth Wonder’ of the World: Video

Arcángel announces his new album, LA 8va Maravilla, and reveals a new collaboration with Grupo Firme.

Arcángel: To the eighth wonder. That’s why this trip we took, visiting the seven wonders, was so special. And within this experience, it’s important to tell people who think that there are only seven wonders that they’ve been mistaken all this time because there’s an eighth wonder. The eighth wonder is this servant here, which I’d tell you is the most fascinating of all, without disrespecting any of the others. Why? Because this wonder sings and walks. You understand? The other wonders stay stationary in one place — you have to go to them. But me? I can come to you and sing to you, you understand?

So, I’m the eighth wonder. That’s why we undertook this journey, as a prelude to let people prepare or get used to the idea that the album is on the way. The first single from the album is a collaboration with my friends from Grupo Firme, and honestly, I’m really happy about it. I had been wanting to collaborate with them for quite some time, in 2023 or 2024, if I remember correctly. Was 2024 the tour through Latin America? Either way, last year, midyear, I had a concert at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico, and we invited all of them. They came and shared the experience with us at the concert.

From there, I had the opportunity to visit Edwin’s house, spend time with him and his family, and meet the whole band and their work team. After that, I thought, “Man, these people are amazing. I’d really like to work with them.”
