‘Arcane’ fans aren’t happy that Twenty One Pilots are missing from deluxe soundtrack

Riot has unveiled the tracklisting for the Arcane season two deluxe soundtrack but fans aren’t happy a beloved Twenty One Pilots song is missing.

Released to coincide with the final season of the hit Netflix show, the soundtrack for Arcane’s second season featured music from Stray Kids, Fever 333, Ashnikko, Tom Morello, d4vd and more.

Earlier this year, a deluxe edition was confirmed. Fans have already heard Sasha Alex Sloan’s haunting take on ‘What Have They Done To Us’, which was originally performed by electronic duo Grey and composer/DJ Mako, and last week it was announced Coldplay would be teaming up with Stromae and Pomme for a new version of ‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’.

Yesterday (March 31) Riot confirmed the full tracklisting for the deluxe version of the Arcane season two soundtrack, which can be seen below:

‘What Have They Done To Us’ – Sasha Alex Sloan, Mako, Grey
‘Fantastic’ (demo) – King Princess
‘Ma Meilleure Ennemie’ – Coldplay, Stromae, Pomme
‘Come Play’ (Kordell remix) – Tom Morello, Stray Kids, Young Miko
‘Paint The Town blue’ (Bloodpop remix) – Asnikko
“I Can Hear It Now’ (live) – Freya Ridings
‘Fantastic’ (live) – King Princess
‘Wasteland’ (live) – Royal And The Serpent
‘Worlds Collide’ (inspired by Arcane: League Of Legends) – JVKE

However a number of fans are annoyed that a live version of Twenty One Pilots’ ‘The Line’ hasn’t been included. The song was originally featured on the season two soundtrack and the band performed it at the 2024 Game Awards alongside fellow Arcane artists d4vd and Royal And The Serpent.

Videos of their Game Awards performance have been viewed millions of times on YouTube and the live rendition has also gone viral across X and TikTok. “Not adding ‘The Line’ live version when Tyler’s scream at the Game Awards went viral is evil,” wrote one fan. “Are they allergic to ‘The Line’,” said another. “Not to sound greedy, but I also need ‘The Line’ live version with Tyler’s SCREAM. Riot pleaseee,” wrote a third.

Speaking about the track, Twenty One Pilot’s Tyler Joseph said he was influenced by the first season of the League Of Legends spin-off. “I found myself inspired by how the idea of family and who can make up your family sits within the central theme, and how music contributed to bringing that to life within the world of Arcane.”

The deluxe soundtrack is available to stream this Friday, April 4.

In other news, Square Enix has launched a new website for Final Fantasy 9 to celebrate the game’s upcoming 25th anniversary – and fans are now convinced a remake is coming.
