Anne-Marie shares new single ‘Don’t Panic’, reveals that she’s expecting second child with Slowthai

Anne-Marie has shared a new single called ‘Don’t Panic’, and revealed that she is expecting a second child with Slowthai.

The song serves as the opener of the singer-songwriter’s new two-track project ‘Act 1: ‘If You’re Looking For A New Best Friend’, which follows her 2023 third studio album ‘Unhealthy’.

Per a press release, the EP “delves into the themes of love for oneself, others and the universal quest for meaning”. On ‘Don’t Panic’, Anne-Marie explores “the chaotic reality of anxiety and inner turmoil”

It adds: “With haunting imagery and vulnerable lyrics, it captures the relentless whirlwind of thoughts and emotions that accompany feelings of panic. Yet, amidst the storm, Anne-Marie makes a poignant plea for calm and self-compassion.”

In a statement about ‘Act 1…’, Anne-Marie explained: “These songs are intended to be the realisation that in searching for a friend, sometimes you’re the only friend you’ll ever need. Apart from me, I can be your best friend, right!?”

Yesterday (February 19), the pop artist also took to social media to reveal that she is pregnant with her second child with Slowthai. The couple welcomed their first child, Seven, last April. The two tied the knot back in 2022.

Sharing a series of photos of herself, Slowthai (real name Tyron Frampton) and Seven last December, Anne-Marie wrote: “2024 the most beautiful yet hardest year of our lives. God really tryina see how strong I am hahaha. I miss you all and I love you all more than you’ll ever know.”

Looking to the future, she continued: “I have SO MUCH for you in the new year that you’ll probably be sick of me (please don’t be 😅🤣) have the best break if you can and see you soon.”

Frampton and his co-accused, Alex Blake-Walker, consistently denied the accusations levelled against them. The rapper reportedly broke down in tears in the dock when the not-guilty verdicts were read out in December 2024.

Slowthai was supported by his wife throughout the trial, which was held at Oxford Crown Court.

The verdict came just days after it was reported that jurors were told not to be “Wagatha Christies” when making their decisions – a reference to the famous legal battle between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney.

Anne-Marie supported Shania Twain at her BST Hyde Park show in London last summer. The pair had previously collaborated on the title track from Anne-Marie’s latest album ‘Unhealthy’.

The record also features the single ‘Trainwreck’, which was inspired by being “happier” after a “toxic relationship”.

Slowthai was nominated for the Mercury Prize for his 2019 debut album ‘Nothing Great About Britain’, with his second album ‘Tyron’ reaching Number One in the UK upon its release in 2021. His third and most recent album, ‘UGLY’, was released in March 2023.
