AC/DC Are Bringing Their ‘Power Up’ Tour to North America in 2025

AC/DC will keep those power levels way up in 2025, with the metal greats announcing their first North American tour in nine years.

The stadium run will take place next spring, starting April 10 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and wrapping May 28 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. Tickets for all shows on the North American leg of the “Power Up” tour will go on sale Dec. 6 at 12 p.m. local time, with full info available via the AC/DC website.

AC/DC returned to the road this summer, playing stadiums across Europe and the U.K., after a lengthy eight-year hiatus. When the band last toured in 2016, hearing problems forced longtime vocalist Brian Johnson to step aside during the final stretch of shows (he was replaced by Axl Rose).

The band’s future remained uncertain after that 2016 tour, both with Johnson’s hearing problems and the retirement of bassist Cliff Williams due to health issues. That left guitarist Angus Young as the last active member of AC/DC’s Back in Black lineup.

But by 2020, AC/DC was back with a new album, Power Up. Johnson was able to regain his voice thanks to new hearing aid technology, and Williams also stepped in to play on the studio recording. The album even featured Back in Black-era drummer Phil Rudd, who’d resolved the legal issues that’d forced him to leave the band in 2015 (a serious criminal case in New Zealand involving threatening-to-kill and drug-possession charges).

AC/DC officially returned to the stage in 2023 with a headlining set at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California. While Williams joined the band for that gig, Rudd had been replaced by Matt Laug. When AC/DC hit the road this summer, Chris Chaney had stepped in for Williams. The band’s current lineup, which will tour North America next year, features Johnson, Young, Chaney, Laug, and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young.
