Per the Korea Herald, an unnamed woman has been arrested in South Korea after attempting to break into the K-pop star’s house on Saturday (August 30). The Yongsan Police Station reported that they woman was apprehended after she slipped into an underground parking lot in Jungkook’s building by tailing a vehicle as it was entering.

The police were alerted immediately after a security guard noticed her on the surveillance cameras. When the security guard confronted the women, she claimed that she was “visiting a friend’s house”.

The woman is currently under investigation, and no details surrounding her penalties have been made public.

Following the break-in attempt, Jungkook hosted a live address on WeVerse, where he spoke of the matter. In the video, Jungkook told fans that he witnessed the incident happen live through his home cameras.

A translation of his address reads: “I was watching everything on my home CCTV. When I heard the police arriving, (the intruder) tried to rush out through the underground parking lot but was eventually caught. She said she was my friend. ARMYs are like family and friends, but I had to make it clear—being supportive is one thing, but what’s wrong is wrong.”

He continued, issuing a stern warning to his fans: “If you come, I’ll lock you in. Everything is recorded as evidence, and you’ll be dragged away. If you step into my parking lot without my permission, you’ll be trapped until I open the door. CCTV is everywhere. Unless you want to end up at the police station, don’t ever come in.”

This marks the second time since June that fans have attempted to break into Jungkook’s home. The first incident took place just hours before the BTS star was discharged from his mandatory military service.

As for BTS, the K-pop juggernauts in early July reunited for the first time since 2022, with all seven members having completed their mandatory military service in South Korea. During a special livestream, the band confirmed rumours that they were preparing to release new music.

“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started,” BTS said in a statement.

“We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album,” they added. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
