“When you asked where I got it, I purposely didn’t tell you because I had a plan,” the singer wrote in a note to Naya, who she met at Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospital
Taylor Swift is giving the gift of fashion this holiday season. Earlier this month, the musician visited Kansas City’s Children’s Mercy Hospital, where she met Naya, a 19-year-old who told her the two-piece skirt set she was wearing was “tea.” Just over a week after the Dec. 12 visit, Naya received an early Christmas gift: the same matching outfit from Miu Miu.
“When you asked where I got it, I purposely didn’t tell you because I had a plan,” Swift wrote in a note that accompanied the gifts. “Picked you up a few things I hope you’ll think are tea. Ha.… Merry Christmas! Love, Taylor.”
Naya shared an unboxing video on TikTok that was filmed in her hospital room. Her haul included two large packages with clothes delivered in peach-colored garment bags. A mix of curiosity and surprise colored her face while opening the first few wrapped gifts, but it was the grand reveal of the Miu Miu set — which retails at $4,500 — that caused her to truly flip out. “This outfit is so tea,” she said at the end of the clip. “We need to take pictures or something, you need to come back and see me.”
During Swift’s visit, they recorded a TikTok set to “Bad Blood.” The teenager also shared a clip of the singer-songwriting signing a copy of her Eras tour book for her. “Thank you for saying my outfit is tea,” Swift said. “You made my day with that. Walking in, you were just so sweet, so friendly, and so lovely.”
In a nine-minute storytime video, she shared: “She was so down to do anything we wanted to do. We were chilling and talking to her for a minute. She really spent her time with every individual in there. I give her her flowers because she just got back from tour. She did not have to come and show her face.”
Naya, who lives with a chronic illness, was discharged from the hospital shortly after her visit with Swift. She was admitted around two weeks prior and was being kept company by her cousin when the singer stopped by.
