Listen to Blossoms’ passionate new single ‘The Honeymoon’

Blossoms have shared a new track called ‘The Honeymoon’. Check it out below.

Shared today (April 1), the new track is set to be featured on the band’s upcoming deluxe version of their recently released fifth album ‘Gary’.

Set to arrive on May 9, the record will follow on from the original album being released in September last year and feature the full tracklist, as well as new additions. Already, Tom Ogden and co. have shared the new bonus track ‘Mariah Carey Through Death Valley’.

Now, the band have shared the latest new addition: a reflective new track called ‘They Honeymoon’.

Maybe that’s why I’m distant/ ‘Cause my dad worked away/ I’ve done some self-reflection/ Some things to contemplate,” Ogden sings in the opening verse. “My confidence is fading/ I think I’ve lost my power/ You look better than ever.”

From there it builds up to the anthemic, Britpop-inspired chorus: “I found my fragility/ But I forget the anniversary/ But I think that’s ok, ’cause so did you/ Lately we’ve been fucking like it’s the period they call the honeymoon.

Tune in above.

News of the new single comes as Blossoms are gearing up for a busy summer of touring this year, with slots lined-up for Glastonbury and Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Liverpool and more.

They will also play some huge outdoor UK shows with Inhaler this summer, including headline gigs at Forest Live in Delamere Forest, TK Maxx Presents Derby Summer Sessions, and and TK Maxx Presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Visit here for tickets.

On top of that, the band have shows with Stereophonics lined-up too, and they have also just recently come back from a tour across Australia with Kasabian.

Speaking to NME last September, around the release of the record, Ogden said Blossoms had “really taken the live show to another level” in the ‘Gary’ era.

“It does feel like we’ve really stepped it up again,” he explained. “That’s important because I don’t want to drift off into the abyss like so many other bands do. This album is helping us stand out from the crowd a little bit.”
