Yesterday (March 24), the singer-songwriter took to social media to announce the track after posting a couple of teasers in recent days. The track has been confirmed for release this Thursday (March 27).

So far, both teasers for the track see the singer clad in lingerie, with country-like chord progressions and a singular “yee-haw” to close out the clips. The second teaser she posted also shows her on all fours in the corridor of a hotel.

Check out the announcement below.

‘Yippee-Ki-Yay’ will mark the ‘TiK ToK’ singer’s first original release of the year, as well as her third single since parting ways with RCA and Kemosabe after releasing her fifth album ‘Gag Order’ back in 2023.

Kesha is expected to release a new album at some point this year, having launched a new independent label called Kesha Records in 2024.

Last year’s single ‘Joyride’ ushered in a new era for the singer, marking her first release – and one she owns the rights to – since departing Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records. She has since released another track, ‘Delusional’, and appeared on a collaborative remix of Charli XCX’s ‘Spring Breakers’.

Kesha announced last autumn that she was devising a 10-year plan to “dismantle” the music industry, after settling her long-running legal battle with Dr. Luke.

In 2025, Kesha is due to play a number of UK live shows. These include a slot at Mighty Hoopla in London, where she’ll perform alongside Ciara, Kate Nash, Pixie Lott, Loreen, Vengaboys, Mutya, Jamelia, Jojo, Erika Jayne, G Flip and Daniel Bedingfield.

She also has two headline gigs coming up on these shores, taking place in Manchester and Glasgow in May. Find any remaining tickets here.
