Woodkid releases soaring ‘Death Stranding 2’ anthem ‘To The Wilder’

Woodkid has released their soaring contribution to the Death Stranding 2: On The Beach soundtrack – check out ‘To The Wilder’ below.

Yoann Lemoine AKA Woodkid is a french music video director who’s previously worked on iconic videos from Harry Styles, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. He’s also released two studio albums and a number of standalone singles.

Woodkid’s latest song ‘To The Wilder’ is part of the official Death Stranding 2: On The Beach soundtrack and can be heard throughout the new, ten-minute trailer for the game. You can listen to the full track here:

Woodkid previously teamed up with Hideo Kojima for ‘Goliath’, which soundtracked the trailer for Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. “Our first conversation happened in Paris. We met around my music and conversations about the gaming industry. We drew parallels between our experiences, and I think we talked a lot about what the future holds and how he envisions the future of creation,” Lemoine said in 2022. “We talked about the importance of time and rhythm, that there is something almost political about making art that takes its time, that doesn’t rush.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that Woodkid had been working on the orchestral score for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach since 2022. Speaking at SXSW, he said he was inspired by “the lore of the game” for the music.

Over the weekend, a Death Stranding concert tour was confirmed to kick off later this year.

‘Strands Of Harmony’ will feature a live orchestra and music from both the original game and the upcoming sequel. “Death Stranding’s music stretches from intimate ballads and synthwave, all the way to climatic orchestral anthems. I can’t wait to bring this eclectic music experience to life with arrangements aimed to elevate each piece in a full orchestral setting,” said composer Ludvic Forssell. “I also hope that we will be able to take you on a journey along with Sam Porter Bridges as the story and music evolved from the first instalment to its sequel.”

In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe a new trailer for the long-awaited game will be shared next month.
