Lady Gaga‘s song “Garden of Eden” isn’t even out yet, but it’s already the soundtrack for the 2025 Formula One racing season.
As announced Wednesday (March 5), the unreleased track — which is set to arrive in full Friday (March 7) along with the rest of the pop star’s highly anticipated Mayhem album — will serve as ESPN’s theme song for the sport this year. Sharing a video montage of its top drivers and sparks flying from race cars speeding down the track, the network wrote on Instagram, “Introducing @espnf1’s anthem for the 2025 season, ‘Garden of Eden’ by the one and only @ladygaga.”
ESPN paired the video with a snippet of “Garden of Eden,” which comes third on the previously announced Mayhem tracklist. “Go get your friends and meet me on the floor,” Gaga sings over a throbbing dance beat and euphoric synths on the track. “Take you to the Garden of Eden/ Poisoned apple, take a bite/ I’ll t-t-take you to the Garden of Eden.”
The 2025 season will officially kick off March 14 with the Round 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix in Australia.
The clip is just the latest snippet Little Monsters have gotten of Mayhem. The long-awaited LP was preceded by singles “Die With a Smile” — the A Star Is Born actress and Bruno Mars’ duet spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — “Disease” and “Abracadabra.” Gaga has previously teased that the album is properly pop, but “leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt,” as she put it to The Los Angeles Times in December.
The F1 news comes just a couple days after the 14-time Grammy winner announced plans to perform a ¡Viva La Mayhem! concert in Mexico City in April, which will come a few days before she plays a beachside show in Rio de Janeiro. Also in April, Gaga will headline Coachella 2025.
