Everything Is Recorded share blissful single ‘Never Felt Better’ with Florence Welch and Sampha

Everything Is Recorded have shared a new single featuring Florence Welch and Sampha – listen to ‘Never Felt Better’ below.

The blissful track will appear on the third studio album from Everything Is Recorded – the collaborative music project of Richard Russell. Titled ‘Temporary’, the record is due for release this Friday (February 28) via XL (pre-order/pre-save here).

‘Never Felt Better’ is described as a “transcendent, hymnal piece of music”, and is accompanied by an official music video by Kristian Mercado and Mela Murder. Both Sampha and the Florence + The Machine frontwoman contribute vocals to the song.

Tune in here:

‘Never Felt Better’ follows on from the previous ‘Temporary’ singles ‘Porcupine Tattoo’ (feat. Noah Cyrus and Bill Callahan), ‘Losing You’ (feat. Sampha, Laura Groves, Jah Wobble and Yazz Ahmed) and ‘Swamp Dream #3’ (feat. Mary In The Junkyard’s Clari Freeman-Taylor).

Everything Is Recorded will celebrate the release of the album with two sold-out ‘Temporary:Space’ live events at Anotherland in London tomorrow and Friday night (February 27, 28). Find more information here.

Other contributors to the LP include Berwyn, Alabaster Deplume, Kamasi Washington, Rickey Washington, Roses Gabor, Jack Peňate, Samantha Morton and Nourished By Time (see the tracklist below).

Per a press release, the record sees Russell swap rhythm and melody, while experimenting with an eclectic mix of genres, asking: “What if folk music had ‘gone digital’ in the ’80s, just as reggae had?”

Lyrically, the album delves into on grief and loss, with Russell saying: “Making the album was joyous, a way of hallowing life.”

Everything Is Recorded have previously released the LP ‘Friday Forever’ (2020), featuring the likes of Aitch and Ghostface Killah. This followed 2018’s Mercury Prize-nominated debut ‘Everything Is Recorded By Richard Russell’, including team-ups with Peter Gabriel, Giggs and more.
