DJ Khaled receives “RIP Drake” coffin delivery

DJ Khaled has become the latest target of a bizarre stunt after a coffin reading “RIP Drake” was delivered to his Florida home.

Earlier this month, two individuals posing as delivery personnel approached Khaled’s security team and were granted access to the property. They placed the coffin outside the gate, knelt in prayer and departed. Khaled’s security team subsequently disposed of the coffin and notified the authorities (per TMZ). DJ Khaled and Drake are yet to comment on the stunt

This comes days after a similar event happened on February 13, where Tekashi 6ix9ine received a black coffin marked “RIP King Von” at his Miami home. The controversial rapper had called the authorities after fearing there was a bomb, but only a bouquet of flowers and a pet box were found inside. 6ix9ine and Von were in the midst of an online feud when the latter was shot and killed after a club appearance in Atlanta, Georgia in 2020.

Recently, Khaled had an awkward encounter with Drake when the acclaimed DJ-turned-producer teased that his upcoming album ‘Aalam of God’ would feature two tracks with the Canadian, writing in an Instagram caption: “FYI… Drake’s back to work… so am I! This the one with [two] Drakes.”

Drake swiftly commented, “Must be @Drakebell” – seemingly denying his involvement in the project. Following this exchange, Khaled deleted the announcement and – according to Drake insider DJ Akademiks – the ‘God’s Plan’ rapper refuses to clear his verses for ‘Aalam of God’.

Drake and DJ Khaled have built a decade-long working relationship, collaborating on multiple chart-topping tracks. Their partnership began with 2011’s ‘I’m On One’ – which became Khaled’s first Number One on the Billboard Hot 100, also featuring Lil Wayne and Rick Ross – followed by hits like 2013’s ‘No New Friends’, 2016’s ‘For Free’, and 2020’s ‘Popstar’ and ‘Greece’.

In other news, Drake currently tops the Billboard 200 chart with ‘$ome $exy $ongs 4 U’ with his longtime collaborator and OVO signee PartyNextDoor. This news broke at the same time it was revealed that the Toronto star had dropped “key allegations” in his case against his label Universal Music Group over the release of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track aimed at him, ‘Not Like Us’.
