Disturbed’s David Draiman wants to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar

David Draiman of Disturbed has revealed that the band are keen on collaborating with Kendrick Lamar – see what he had to say below.

Speaking to Chicago’s Q101 radio station recently, the rock and metal vocalist shared that the band are working on a track that “needs a strong rapper” and that he thinks Kendrick Lamar would be a suitable candidate, describing the song as “the modern-day ‘Walk This Way’ or ‘Bring The Noise’”.

Referencing a quick mash-up Q101 host Brian Haddad made of Disturbed and Kendrick Lamar shortly after the Super Bowl for social media earlier this month, Draiman said: “You know what? It’s actually something we’ve been thinking about. And Kendrick is way at the top of the list.”

Draiman explained: “We have this track. It’s part of this new group of material, this new album that we have under our belt… It’s about unity. It’s about all about bringing people together. And it needs a strong rapper, whomever that might be, and Kendrick would definitely be an amazing person to collaborate with. I would love to do that. We would love to do this.”

The Disturbed frontman went on to pitch the idea to Kendrick Lamar directly: “Kendrick, if you’re at all interested, let’s go ahead and shock the world a little bit. Let’s let everybody know that we have more in common than we do that separates us. And let’s take our artistry to another level together. I would love to do that.”

Draiman also shared that he’s tried reaching out to Kendrick Lamar through Instagram comments but doesn’t know if Lamar’s seen them and has yet to respond.

It is currently unclear if Draiman’s political views have anything to do with Lamar’s lack of response. Chance The Rapper recently praised a backing dancer who held up a Palestinian flag during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance – Disturbed’s David Draiman is notably pro-Israel, as he is of Jewish descent and in the past has said that he “doesn’t give a shit” if his views alienate people.

Lamar’s Super Bowl performance came shortly after the rapper won five awards at the Grammys 2025, including Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his Drake diss song ‘Not Like Us’. Then, after he broke out the song during the set, it was confirmed that streams on the track rose by 430 per cent.

Elsewhere, Kid Rock shared his opinions on Lamar’s Super Bowl Halftime performance, saying that he “respects” it but thinks it’s “the epitome of DEI blowing up”.
