The Stranger Things star attended Carpenter’s show in Atlanta last October, with the pair engaging in a lighthearted interaction mid-performance – much to the excitement of those in the crowd.
Brown appeared on the big screens for the segment, which saw the pop star fake an arrest of a fan “for being too hot” each night. “It’s so unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful,” Carpenter told the actor. “That sucks.”
From there, Brown pleaded with the singer to arrest her, before proudly holding up the fluffy pink handcuffs to the camera. The moment subsequently went viral on social media (watch below).
Now, in a new interview with Vanity Fair, Brown has said she had reached out to Carpenter via text message ahead of the show. “Can you arrest me?” she asked, to which the star obliged: “I would love to arrest you.”
The outlet also notes that Carpenter has since staged the arrests of her producer Jack Antonoff and his wife, The Substance actor Margaret Qualley, and Saturday Night Live comedian Marcello Hernández as his SNL character Domingo.

Brown was in attendance at Carpenter’s Atlanta show as she was reportedly filming Stranger Things’ fifth and final season in the city at the time. The show wrapped on its last-ever outing in late December.
Carpenter is due to embark on the UK and European leg of her ‘Short n’ Sweet’ tour next month, before headlining BST Hyde Park in London this summer. Find any remaining tickets here (UK/Ireland).
She’ll also top the bill at Primavera Sound alongside Charli XCX and Chappell Roan in June.

Carpenter recently won the praise of Madonna for her new Vogue magazine cover, after collaborating with the Queen Of Pop’s longtime photographer on the shoot.
