George Daniel of The 1975 has teamed up with Oscar Farrell for a new single called ‘Volc3’. Check it out below.
The new track marks the first joint release from the dh2 labelmates, and gradually builds into a pounding bassline.
It begins with subtle, soft instrumentals that flicker the song to life, as it develops momentum and integrates ambient samples and synths, which dip in and out of focus.
The arrival of the new track also comes on the same day (February 13) that the label will be bringing its infamous club night to New York’s Public Records for the first time. It comes after it first made a name for itself last year following huge parties in London that featured appearances from Kelly Lee Owens, Taylor Skye and Bodhi.

The new collaboration between Daniel and Farrell comes as the former began releasing his own solo material around the same time as dh2’s launch in 2024.
Back at the end of July, the drummer, songwriter and producer launched his solo career with the debut single ‘Screen Cleaner’, which officially marked his new venture into the electronic dance genre. It was shared on dh2, as it is the electronic imprint he spearheads via The 1975’s label, Dirty Hit.
Since then, he shared another solo track in the form of ‘Chlorine’.
Speaking about his venture into solo material and exploration of the electronic genre, Daniel told The Face that the move wasn’t done in the hopes of bringing more attention to himself.
“I have a huge amount of imposter syndrome with this stuff – I think about this every day, like ‘Oh, this is the guy who plays the drums and produces this band, they’re successful, now he decides he’s going to do a label because every other video on Instagram is a DJ right now’ – that’s my nightmare,” he said last summer.
“The last thing I want people to think is like ‘Oh, George wanted more attention.’ Absolutely not. Matty [Healy, 1975 frontman] can have everything!”
In the run up to the solo single, Daniel had been previewing his new material throughout the summer, including appearances with Charli at Glastonbury 2024, Boiler Room New York, Ibiza’s Amnesia and The Floor with Jamie xx at Venue MOT in London.
The 1975 drummer co-produced The Japanese House‘s 2019 debut album ‘Good At Falling’ and its 2023 follow-up ‘In The End It Always Does’. Additionally, he has worked with the likes of Caroline Polachek, Beabadoobee and No Rome.
For Oscar Farrell, the new track comes as he has been making a name for himself in the UK’s electronic and dance music scene. He also recently released the single ‘Running Free’, which will be featured on his forthcoming debut EP ‘I’ve Already Called’.
Set for release tomorrow (February 14), the EP is described in a release as reflecting the artist’s “deep understanding of a variety of club-styles – taking in airy moments of two-step, grounding basslines and glitchy, chopped vocals.”
In other George Daniel news, as well as making waves with both his solo material and work with The 1975, he has also seen his work with fiancée Charli XCX making its way onto the charts – collaborating with her on her hit album ‘Brat’.
He earned co-writing and production credits on the LP, and is credited on ‘Club Classics’ – where Charli sings “I wanna dance with George” – and the viral hit ‘Apple’.
