Beck announces London orchestral shows “for two nights only”

Beck has announced orchestral shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall this spring for “two nights only”.

The musician announced the news on social media, confirming that both the shows will be at the Royal Albert Hall accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra.

“London! Announcing two orchestral performances at Royal Albert Hall accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra on 19 & 20 April,” he wrote in the caption. Beck confirmed that the first London show would be conducted by Edwin Outwater, and the second by Troy Miller.

He will perform unique symphonic arrangements of classics and deep cuts from the back catalogue, according to a press release about the shows. Fans can expect music from his albums ‘Odelay’, ‘Mutations’, ‘Sea Change’ and ‘Morning Phase’. There will also be covers and “other surprises” at Beck’s London shows.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 14. you can buy tickets here.

In 2024 Beck went on an orchestral US tour, and used the shows to perform countless fan favourites, as well as new covers. The opening night of the tour took place at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery Amphitheatre in Woodinville, Washington on July 3, before continuing over the weekend with a slot at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on July 6.

To open the show, Beck launched the set with ‘Cycle’, the opening track from ‘Morning Phase’, before progressing into ‘The Golden Age’ – taken from his 2002 album ‘Sea Change’. From there, other classics from his discography included ‘Lonesome Tears’, ‘Wave’, ‘Tropicalia’ and ‘Blue Moon’.

In other Beck-related news, the musician shared an atmospheric cover of the classic George Harrison track ‘Be Here Now’.  In his cover, Beck, for the most part, keeps the same charm and ethereal atmosphere that Harrison displayed in the original while adding subtle elements of his own signature style within.

He also teamed up with The Black Keys in November 2024 for a psychedelic-imbued track called  ‘I’m With The Band’, from the expanded version of the band’s latest album, ‘Ohio Players’.
