The tour is in support of the band’s debut album ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’. In a glowing five-star review of the LP, NME shared: “Lambrini Girls prove punk is alive and kicking. They’re unapologetically amplifying chaos, calling out societal wrongs, and daring us all to feel something. This record is loud, raw, and impossible to ignore.”
Lambrini Girls were recently featured on NME‘s The Cover. During the interview, the duo opened up about their political roots with Macieira saying: “Politics has always been a part of all of my friendships. Women tend to be a little bit more involved due to necessity… I have a really strong sense of justice – I’ve always got riled up about things and have been confused as to why other people aren’t.”
Lunny added: “People sometimes seem to see us as just solely activists and not musicians. It would be different if we weren’t women. I feel like people can’t really perceive women to be more than one thing at once. There are male political bands who get asked about their music a lot more.”
Macieira continued, adding: “We’re first and foremost musicians and secondly political ones.”
In other news, Lambrini Girls are set to perform at this year’s edition of Latitude festival alongside the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, Air, Reggie Watts and more.
