Waxahatchee releases new vibrant track ‘Mud’, an outtake from latest album ‘Tigers Blood’

Waxahatchee has released a vibrant new track called ‘Mud’, which is an outtake from her latest album ‘Tigers Blood‘.

‘Mud’ maintains Waxahatchee’s (real name Katie Crutchfield) signature style. It’s a vibrant tune fuelled by airy guitars against Americana sonics – pulled together with banjo strings and a steady yet catchy beat.

Sharing the song on social media, the musician wrote: “new song “mud” is out now ✨ an outtake from the original tb session !”

The musician is set to embark on a 2025 UK tour this summer, which will include her biggest-ever headline date at London’s Eventim Apollo. Check out a full list of dates below and visit here to purchase tickets.

Waxahatchee 2025 UK tour dates are:

JUNE 2025
8 – Glasgow, Barrowland
9 – Manchester, Albert Hall|
10 – Bristol, SWX
11 – London, Eventim Apollo

Her latest album ‘Tigers Blood’ was released in March 2024. It was nominated for Best Americana Album in the 2025 Grammys, with the win eventually going to Sierra Ferrell.

In a five-star review of her sixth studio LP ‘Tigers Blood’, NME wrote: “These songs offer a more adult and grounded perspective than ones like ‘Lone Star Lake’ and ‘Evil Spawn’; they’re about the person who feels like home rather than the one who gets your blood pumping. It’s a nice counterweight that feels emblematic of ‘Tigers Blood’ — it’s a burning fire, and it’s a warm summer evening at once.”

‘Tigers Blood’ also landed the 35th spot on NME’s 50 Best Albums Of 2024 list, with editor Alex Flood sharing: “The best songs make you feel like everything is going to be OK and that you’re right where you need to be in that moment. Every second of this exquisite ode to old-school Americana by Waxahatchee – from its unhurried opener ‘3 Sisters’ to the warm country ballad ‘Right Back To It’ – will put you completely at ease.”

Waxahatchee will also be playing at Primavera Sound in Barcelona  on June 6, followed by Primavera Porto in Portugal on June 13.

In other news, Waxahatchee recently teamed up with MJ Lenderman for a cover of Lucinda Williams‘ ‘Abandoned’.
