Travis Kelce teases new music from Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has been at work on new music, according to her boyfriend Travis Kelce.

The pop star released her 11th studio record, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, last April. It served as the first half of a “secret double album”, with ‘The Anthology’ completing the 31-track collection.

Last November, ‘Tortured Poets’ was nominated for the Album Of The Year award at the 2025 Grammys. Swift previously won the prize for ‘Fearless’ (2008), ‘1989’ (2014), ‘Midnights’ (2022) and ‘Folklore’ (2020).

During the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce – who has been dating Swift since 2023 – hinted that more material from the singer-songwriter was currently in the works.

This comes after Swift wrapped up her record-breaking, 149-show ‘Eras Tour’ in Canada last month.

McAfee asked Kelce what it was like to be around the star when “the creative juice sparks”. “Are you a motivator every single time?” he added. The NFL player responded by saying that he would “never chime in” during Swift’s writing process.

“But I’m here to support it,” he continued (via Billboard). “I’m here to see where it can go, you know what I mean?”

McAfee suggested that Swift could be working on an album about a “good guy”, joking that she’d already opened up about her “fuck boy” exes on previous records. Kelce replied: “I don’t know. There might be a few…”

He then stopped himself from revealing any further details, adding: “You know I can’t say, you know I can’t say… any of that. I hear music everywhere.” You can watch a clip of the conversation above, as well as the full podcast.

Swift seemingly sings about her romance with Kelce on the song ‘So High School’ from ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’.

She also appears to reference the resurfaced clip of the footballer playing ‘Marry, Kiss, Kill’ on the track. The original clip, captured in 2016, sees Kelce choose between Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and his current partner Swift.

Last summer, Swift brought out Kelce during one of her Wembley Stadium shows in London for a performance of ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’. The NFL player later said it was an “honour” to stand beside a “true showman” like her.

Swift has released four studio albums since 2020 (‘Folklore’, ‘Evermore’, ‘Midnights’ and ‘Tortured Poets’) as well as four of her six planned re-recorded LPs, the latest being ‘1989’ (Taylor’s Version)’.

In other news, it has been revealed that Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets’ was the biggest-selling vinyl album in the UK in 2024. It marks the third consecutive year the singer topped the list, having done so with ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ in 2023 and ‘Midnights in 2022.

Meanwhile, Joe Alwyn has said he hopes that people will “move on” from his past relationship with Swift.
