Kanye West has claimed The Last Of Us Part 2 is “the best game ever made”.
The Last Of Us Part 2 was originally released in 2020, while a remastered edition of the game followed at the start of last year. As well as a number of graphical updates, the updated version of The Last Of Us Part 2 featured a new roguelike survival mode called No Return which sees players taking on a number of randomised encounters set in environments from the existing campaign mode.
Taking to Instagram, West shared a short clip of him playing the acclaimed sequel’s survival mode as Ellie. “Last Of Us 2 on Survivor + Mode got me spending all day on one board,” he wrote alongside the video. “By faaaaaaaarrrr the best game ever made so far. This is not a sponsored post”
Back in 2016, Kanye West said he was going to name the follow-up to ‘The Life Of Pablo’ after vintage 16-bit console TurboGrafx-16 but the project never materialised, with West eventually dropping ‘Ye’ in 2018.
Around the same time, West announced he would be making his own video game with a trailer for Only One premiering during E3 2016.
According to one gaming journalist, West approached Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto about the project, which would see players guide West’s late mother Donda to heaven. Only One was also set to feature original music from West, but the project was never released.
At the end of last year, it was claimed Kanye West had still not paid a number of producers who had worked on ‘Vultures 1’ and ‘Vultures 2’, which were both released as part of West’s collaborative project ¥$ with Ty Dolla $ign. The rapper is also being sued by a model alleging sexual assault and strangulation, and an ex-employee alleging discrimination and a hostile work environment but all three lawsuits have yet to receive a response from West and his legal team.
In other news, the remastered The Last Of Us Part 2 is coming to PC in April while developers Naughty Dog have also teased “one more chapter” after previously suggesting the franchise was done with Part 2.
