Alessi Rose kicks off 2025 with amorous new song ‘Start All Over’

Alessi Rose has kicked off the new year with her amorous new single ‘Start All Over’. Check it out below.

Produced by Josh Scarbrow and written by Rose and Audrey Hobert, the song opens with a soft, country-reminiscent guitar riff and quickly goes into a pop beat.

“Don’t act like you don’t know / There won’t be a first move unless you’re making it / I’m so go-with-the-flow but / Imma cut my hands off unless you’re taking ’em,” Rose sings, detailing her feelings for crush, hoping they would make a move.

Speaking about the track in a press release, the Derby songwriter shared: “‘Start All Over’ is about that time when you start to like someone and nobody really wants to do anything about it. It’s fun and cheeky and knowing but also soul-crushing because you’re endlessly wishing the other person to make the first move”

‘Start All Over’ follows her previously released tracks ‘Pretty World’, ‘Imsochillandcool’ and ‘Oh My’ and serves as the final preview for her forthcoming EP ‘For Your Validation’ which is set for release on January 17 via AWAL. You can pre-save it here.

Rose is also set to embark on her 2025 ‘For Your Validation’ UK, Ireland and European tour later this spring. Check out a full list of dates below and visit here to purchase tickets.

Previously speaking to NME about her songwriting and fanbase, Rose shared: “Writing was always a way of capturing the thoughts or the feelings and keeping them in one place for myself before they spiral out of control.”

She continued: “Now that I know there’s a group of really supportive, lovely people who are listening to it and are the age that I was when I was writing a lot of the stuff, it’s like, OK, it’s helping someone, and it feels like I’m doing a good thing.

“I just wanted to create what I wanted when I was 16,” she says. “I hope it’s something I would have listened to back then and been like, ‘Oh my God, I feel like this has been taken straight out of my diary.’”

Rose also weighed in on the current state of pop music and said: “I feel like pop is so back. There was a point where no one wanted to admit that they listen to pop music. I listen to pop music all the fucking time, and I will cry it to the heavens.”
