Taylor Swift Mines the Vault, Launches ‘Eras Archive’ Site

The archive features behind-the-scenes footage from several hit music videos

It’s Taylor Swift‘s birthday, and she’s gifting her fans something special to celebrate. Swift’s marketing and public relations company, Taylor Nation, launched an “Eras Archive” site which honor each of the superstar’s musical eras.

The archival site features eight videos of behind-the-scenes footage from several music videos over the last four years, including “Fortnight,” “Karma,” “I Can See You,” “Bejeweled,” “Anti-Hero,” and “Cardigan.” The footage was originally shown during the Eras Tour pre-show right after the doors opened. Now it’s available for anyone who didn’t get their hands on tickets.

The behind-the-scenes footage is a goldmine for fans, featuring interviews with the singer’s A-list music video stars from Ethan Hawke and his Dead Poets Society cast mate Josh Charles to Taylor Lautner and Ice Spice.

“She’s so incredible and supportive, like she’s just cheering you on the whole time,” Spice said about the singer, who doubles as a director on all the featured music videos. “Taylor is an amazing director. She knows exactly what she wants, I can tell she’s been doing this for a while,” the rapper added. The behind-the-scenes “Karma” video wraps with Swift masterminding Spice’s verse with a clam and pearl scene.

While there are several compelling clips of Swift putting her director hat on, there are also plenty of moments when the megastar is candid and silly. At one point in the “Bejeweled” BTS, while getting a lesson from burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, Swift rips her tights and exclaims, “I fucking ruined them!”

Taylor Nation announced the archival site on Instagram using a montage of the behind-the-scenes footage and “Taylor’s Version” text displayed on top. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a reputation-themed version of the text. Could it be an Easter egg?
