Acid Bath announce new festival dates for reunion tour after Sick New World cancellation

Acid Bath have announced a handful of festival dates as part of their reunion tour following Sick New World 2025’s cancellation.

The Sludge Metal Legends have added three new festival dates to their 2025 touring schedule. They are set to take the stage at Florida’s Welcome to Rockville festival which will take place on May 15 -18 (visit here for tickets), Inkcarceration in Mansfield, Ohio on July 18-20 (visit here for tickets), and Kentucky’s Louder Than Life festival on September 18 -21 (visit here for tickets)

It was previously announced that Acid Bath are set to play Sonic Temple in Ohio on May 8 -11 (Visit here for tickets). Their performance there will mark the band’s first show in 28 years which was originally supposed to take place at Sick New World prior to its cancellation.

The festival, which focuses on rock, nu-metal and industrial, shared the line-up for its third year in October. Previously set to take place at Las Vegas Festival Grounds on April 12, over 50 names were announced, with Linkin Park and Metallica to headline alongside performances from Evanescence, Queens Of The Stone Age, Gojira and AFI.

Organisers announced the cancellation on November 29, citing “unforeseen circumstances”, with a statement on their Instagram reading: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated SNW fans who had made plans to join us for another cultural celebration of hard rock, goth, alternative, and heavy music. Please stay tuned for further and future information regarding Sick New World. Tickets purchased directly from Front Gate Tickets will be automatically refunded to the original method of payment in as little as 30 days.”

Acid Bath formed in 1991 and released two albums in their lifespan: 1994’s ‘When the Kite String Pops’ and ‘Paegan Terrorism Tactics’ in 1996. They broke up in 1997 when bassist Audie Pitre and his parents were killed in a car crash by a drunk driver.

The reunion will include three of the band’s founding members, with lead singer Dax Riggs, guitarist Sammy ‘Pierre’ Duet and guitarist Mike Sanchez on board. They’ll be joined by drummer Zack Simmons and bassist Alex Bergeron. Founding keyboardist Tommy Viator died earlier this year.
