Fans react as ‘Fortnite’ releases Chappell Roan ‘Hot To Go’ emote: “My life is complete”

Fortnite has released a Chappell Roan ‘Hot To Go’ emote, inspired by the viral dance.

Fortnite is an online gaming platform with a number of different modes including battle royale and the Guitar Hero-inspired Festival. The game has a long history of music-based collaborations and has just wrapped up its massive Season Two Remix event, which ended with a virtual concert featuring Eminem, Ice Spice, Juice WRLD and Snoop Dogg

Earlier this week, Fortnite released a new range of emotes including Get H.O.T., inspired by Chappell Roan’s ‘Hot To Go’ dance. The emote sees your character recreate the viral dance that has become a key part of Chappell Roan gigs.

Sharing the news on her Instagram, Chappell Roan said she “loves” Fortnite. Earlier this year, she revealed that she’d bought her own track in Fortnite Festival and plays the game on her Nintendo Switch.

“Chappell Roan in Fortnite, my life is complete,” one fan wrote on TikTok, sharing a video of their character using the emote. “Not Fortnite dropping one of the best emotes ever,” said another. “Anyone who doesn’t like this obviously doesn’t enjoy fun because I ran after seeing this video,” replied a third.

The Get H.O.T. emote is available to buy in Fortnite’s in-game shop for 500 V-bucks until January 4, 2024 and fans can currently buy 1000 V-bucks for £6.99.

The emote was released as part of Fortnite’s Chapter 6 Season 1 update which went live earlier this week and also features the Megan Thee Stallion-inspired ‘Viper’ emote, A new, Japan-inspired map was also introduced that features a dedicated ‘emote-free zone’. Rule breaking characters will be instantly killed.

Chappell Roan was recently announced to be headlining Reading & Leeds Festivals next summer. She’ll top the bill alongside Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon and Hozier. “We are delighted to welcome Chappell Roan’s debut, an inspiring new pop star poised to define a generation,” said festival boss Melvin Benn.

“Right now, we’re witnessing an exciting wave of inspiring voices breaking through in pop culture, and this line-up captures that energy perfectly. This is one of the youngest average ages for headliners in years, and that’s very exciting in itself.
