Yesterday (November 6), the Republican nominee and former POTUS has earned 279 electoral college votes, beating out Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ 223 electoral college votes, securing his return to the White House (via BBC News).

After Trump claimed victory, Moby took to social media to share some tips and advice for his followers in the wake of the “really bad decision”. In the video – which you can see in full below – Moby said: “So obviously the election results are terrible and America and Americans have clearly made a really bad decision, but the question is what do we do now? And for me, and I hope for you as well, there’s no point in making ourselves feel worse.”

He continued: “It’s not going to benefit anybody to doomscroll and watch the news and constantly just spiral down into depression… So it might sound like a new age cliché, but we have to practice self care, we have to eat well and exercise and spend time with people we love and help animals and do anything that keeps us sane and healthy.”

Elsewhere, the entertainment world has been reacting to the news since Trump declared victory yesterday (November 6).

Riverdale star Lili Reinhart said: “I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”

Actor, comedian and singer Bette Midler shared a quote from the late US journalist, satirist, and cultural critic H. L. Mencken: “On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Jack White has since shared a blistering social media post, in which he lambasted Trump and made a point to highlight several groups who will be affected by the convicted felon’s presidency: “Americans chose a known, obvious fascist and now America will get whatever this wannabe dictator wants to enact from here on in… Immigrants? He wants you out. Minorities? He doesn’t care about you at ALL. Women? You know exactly what he thinks of you. Dying on the stretcher from a miscarriage of your rapist’s pregnancy?”

Billie Eilish and more have also in the wake of Trump’s win been sharing their concerns and worries about his stance on women’s rights.

Earlier this year, Moby spoke to NME about his new album ‘Always Centered At Night’, working with the late poet Benjamin Zephaniah, and celebrating the 25th anniversary of his record-breaking album ‘Play’. You can read the full chat here.
