Taylor Swift announces “retrospective” ‘Eras Tour’ book and ‘The Anthology’ physical editions

Taylor Swift has announced an official book to commemorate her huge ‘Eras Tour’, as well as the physical editions of her ‘Anthology’ album. Find all the details below.

The pop star shared the news today (October 15) ahead of kicking off the final leg of her record-breaking, career-spanning world tour in Miami, Florida on Friday (18).

Writing on social media, Swift said it was “hard to comprehend” the lengthy trek coming to an end. “This tour has been the most wondrous experience and I knew I wanted to commemorate the memories we made together in a special way,” she wrote.

“Well, two ways actually. Excited to announce that The Official Eras Tour Book, filled with my own personal reflections, never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos [and] all the magical memories you guys brought every single night.”

A preview video revealed that the hardcover 256-page book will contain over 500 photographs from the tour, “from start to finish”. Check out the preview clip in the post below.

Swift said in a statement: “Here is the official retrospective of the most wondrous tour of my life, my beloved ‘Eras Tour’. Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You were what made the ‘Eras Tour’ what it became.”

A description reads: “The hardcover book features over 500 images, including never-before-seen performance photos from every era as well as exclusive rehearsal photos and behind-the-scenes images of instruments, costumes, set pieces and designer sketches used throughout the tour.

“The book also includes personal reflections and notes written by Taylor herself about her experience on the Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour.”

Additionally, Swift has confirmed that the extended ‘Anthology’ edition of her latest album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ will be released on vinyl and CD for the first time on November 29.

US fans can purchase the ‘Eras Tour’ book and the physical versions of ‘The Anthology’ via Target on the same day, to mark Black Friday. Information regarding international sales is “coming soon”.

The vinyl album features four marbled, translucent discs and is accompanied by a never-before-seen 12×12-inch poster of Swift. Both the vinyl and CD editions feature 35 tracks, including four bonus acoustic songs.

Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ was also documented in a 2023 live movie, which earned the biggest-ever opening weekend for a concert film. Disney+ later released ‘Taylor’s Version’ of the film globally.

The singer is due to end her mammoth ‘Eras Tour’ in Vancouver, Canada in early December. She’ll play three gigs in Miami this week ahead of further stops in New Orleans, Indianapolis and Toronto.

During her 100th ‘Eras Tour’ show in Liverpool in June, Swift told the audience: “This has definitely been the most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever wondered in my life, this tour.”

NME gave Swift’s first Edinburgh date of her 2024 UK/Ireland leg a glowing five-star review, writing: “Despite being an arena show, in a huge, cavernous venue, Swift and her fans have managed to cultivate a community. Strangers swap friendship bracelets, laugh and cry together, and embrace the tour’s in-jokes and lore (for example shouting “one, two, three, let’s go bitch” during ‘Delicate’).

“It’s the power of Swift, an artist who’s inspired not only the renaming of a Scottish Loch, but also countless fans to come out and embrace being a part of the Eras family. With The Eras Tour, then, Swift’s managed to craft a marvel of a show that comes with a beating heart.”

In other news, Swift is leading the nominations for the 2024 MTV EMAs. This year’s ceremony is set to take place in Manchester on November 10.
